Summer basketball camps for girls

IMGP0004Palo Alto Midnight is once again proud to be co-hosting the summer basketball camps at Palo Alto High School.  Directed by our very own Scott Peters, the camps are designed for highly motivated players who are committed to improving their offensive and defensive skills, court awareness and overall understanding of the game.

Camps are a full-week, Monday through Friday, and run from 9:00am-3:00pm (including lunch) for the full-day option ($375) and 9:00am-noon, for the 1/2 day option ($200).  Special prices for attending multiple full day sessions or attending with a sibling.

  • Regular full day session $375.
  • 2 sessions $300 full day / $175 half day (per camper per session)
  • 3 sessions $250 full day / $155 half day (per camper per session)
  • 2 siblings $300 full day / $175 half day (per camper per session)
  • 2 sessions 2 or more sessions
    $250 full day / $150 half day (per camper per session)

Spring/Summer 2013 tryouts for Boys and Girls

Palo Alto Midnight the peninsula’s premier AAU basketball club, will be holding their 2013 travel-team tryouts for their Girls and Boys teams.   Boys teams are planned for 2nd through high-school, while for the Girls side, we plan on two teams for each grade from 4th through high-school.

Our flexible model is ideal for participants who play multiple sports.

Practice player options available for less experienced players.

Participating Girls players may also be invited to play on one of two college viewing teams.

Full participation for the Spring/Summer session is $1445.00 and includes 6-8 local tournaments and (at least) 2 practices per week.  Additional costs for uniform/equipment, as well as away tournaments.  Financial assistance and payment plans available for qualified candidates.

In response to popular demand, we will have a one south-bay practice per week, at San Jose City College.  (Girls teams only, grades TBD).

Note high school players can register now to secure a spot for Spring/Summer.  Simply register now & we’ll arrange a tryout for once your season ends.

Midnight in Reno

Palo Alto Midnight sent 14 teams (12 girls & 2 boys) to the AAU Memorial Day Jam, the largest youth basketball tournament in the world & came home with some hardware. Of the 14 teams, nine made championship games, with 4 taking top place. Congratulations to:

Champions in Reno x4

he Midnight teams had spectacular success at the Memorial Day Jam in Reno, NV, capturing four championships, one runner-up, one third and one fourth place finish.

4th Grade/9U

The 4th grade/9u team had a great run advancing to the Championship game of level 1 competition.  In perhaps the game of the day, Mele put the game into overtime with a buzzer beating shot, then made what appeared to be the game winner at the buzzer, which was then waived off by the officials.  Incredible opening season for this crew.

5th Grade / 10U

The Midnight 5th grade/10U girls captured the Level 1 Championship going 4-0, with victories over: Grizzly Hoops 40-15, Brisbane Warriors 57-28, Pasco Bulldogs 50-46 and the Wapato Shooting Stars 51-31.

6th Grade / 11U

The 6th grade girls had a magical run to capture the level 1 championship.  The team kicked things off with a 81-24 win over the 503 flyers in the play in game.  Then in what can now only be considered ‘super Saturday’ the team pulled off two spectacular come from behind victories to advance to the Championship game.  In the quarter-finals, Midnight trailed by 22 to District Champion Stockton Mustangs with 14:30 remaining, then mounted a stunning comeback to win 70-63.  In the Semi-finals, they trailed by 8 at half to a very tough Grizzly Hoopsters team, and held on for a 61-60 victory.  In a championship rematch from 2010, Midnight this time came out ahead 58-41.

6th Grade Boys

Palo Alto Midnight 6th grade boys won a hard-fought championship in Reno. Midnight 6th were undefeated, with their four victories decided by a sum total of 10 points. After winning both game two and game three on three point swishes in the final seconds,  Midnight proceeded to win their championship game 51-47 in overtime against the Central Valley Hornets. During the trip, Midnight 6th and 5th boys also held a memorial to Igor Malik, a dedicated father and passionate Midnight fan who passed away in late 2010.

Fall AAU basketball

Palo Alto Midnight Fall AAU basketball is the perfect program to get advanced players ready for winter NJB/school basketball.

The fall session runs from 9/12-10/24 and includes:

Cost is $95.00 which includes an AAU club membership, which can be used with any AAU program through Aug. 31, 2011.  Tournament participation will be a separate fee.
